Our Community Principles

Kind in the 409 thrives on a foundation of genuine compassion and community support. To ensure a safe, effective, and truly benevolent environment for everyone, we ask all members to uphold the following principles:

1

Focus on Benevolent Support:

Our core mission is to focus on spreading kindness by providing a group that offers connections between community members who have a need, with members who have the ability to meet a need in and around the 409 area. All interactions and offers of assistance in this group are for the sole purpose of spreading kindness and providing compassionate help.

2

Needs-Based Connections:

We aim to identify opportunities and facilitate direct, practical assistance within the 409 area. We encourage looking for specific needs and starting small.

3

No Commercial Transactions or Sales:

Kind in the 409 is a non-profit initiative dedicated to community service, not a marketplace. This platform is not for buying, selling, trading, promoting businesses, or any other commercial activities. Please keep all interactions focused on meeting genuine needs.

4

Respect and Compassion:

We are moved with compassion for people and strive to see lives changed. We encourage all members to engage with kindness, empathy, and respect in every interaction, remembering to consider our surroundings, community, and people.

5

Professional Advice Belongs with Professionals:

This group is not for medical, legal, or any other advice requiring a professional.

6

Integrity and Trust:

We value honesty and transparency. Please ensure all requests and offers of help are genuine and align with the spirit of kindness and support we foster.

7

Use Wisdom:

This is a private group in an attempt to protect members, but please be wise and vigilant.

8

Be the Change:

We encourage you to be the change you want to see in Southeast Texas. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, contributes to building a stronger, more connected community.
